Learn Spanish with friends.

Something you can start together, laugh about together, and actually use together.

Bring your friends and I’ll help you go from “I don’t speak Spanish” to having simple, useful conversations. A private beginner programme, with time for everyone to speak and ask questions.

Tell me about your group

Chat with me, Jen. We’ll agree the details before you book.

Ten one-hour sessionsYour own private groupComplete beginners welcome

Start from zero and learn together.

Maybe you’re planning a trip, have always wanted to learn, or simply fancy doing something different with your friends.

I’ll plan the sessions so each one builds on what we’ve already done. We’ll revisit things, practise them in conversation and make space for mistakes. You don’t have to be “good at languages” to begin.

  • Your people, your paceA closed group of friends, rather than joining a class of strangers. I’ll get to know what you enjoy and what you want to use Spanish for.
  • Useful Spanish from the beginningIntroductions, small conversations, ordering something to eat and asking for help. Things you can imagine yourself actually saying.
  • Support between sessionsA private WhatsApp group, follow-ups and short activities so Spanish stays with you between the times we meet.

Start with one session. Then decide together.

1. Tell me about your group

We’ll talk about your starting point, what you’d like to learn, and dates and format that could work for everyone.

2. Try the first session

It’s the real start of the programme. You’ll begin using Spanish and get a feel for learning together, without paying for everything upfront.

3. Decide whether to continue

If you all want to carry on, pay the remaining programme balance before we meet again. Your initial payment already counts towards the total.

Build a useful beginner foundation.

By the end, I’d love you to feel that you can say things and have a simple conversation. The aim is confidence and a useful starting point, not fluency in ten sessions.

Jenifer, your Spanish teacher and the person behind Canoa

I’ll teach your group myself.

I’m Jen, the person behind Canoa. I want to know what brings you to Spanish, what you find difficult, and what makes you want to keep going.

If we need to spend more time on something, we will. If you have a trip coming up, we can practise what you’d really like to say. There will be plenty of questions, mistakes and, hopefully, lots of laughing along the way.

Meet live online, or ask about face-to-face availability in Hastings and the surrounding area. We’ll agree the location and schedule before you book. Ten sessions can be weekly or spread out to suit the group.

Everything included for £150 each.

The price covers your complete beginner programme, including:

  • Ten private, one-hour sessions with me.
  • A private WhatsApp learning group.
  • Follow-ups, vocabulary and useful resources.
  • Short activities to keep practising between sessions.
  • Online recordings when everyone agrees.

More or fewer than three? Send me a message and I’ll confirm what I can offer and the price for your group.

Let’s plan your group

A few things you
might be wondering

Do we all need to be beginners?

This programme is designed for friends starting from little or no Spanish. If your levels are different, tell me before booking so we can decide whether learning together is the right fit.

Is it online or face-to-face?

We can meet live online. Face-to-face sessions in the Hastings area depend on location and availability. Tell me your preference and we’ll agree the details before you pay; I won’t change the format without discussing it with you.

Does it take ten consecutive weeks?

It includes ten one-hour sessions. Weekly is a simple way to build a routine, but we can agree a different rhythm. You’ll know the planned dates before committing to the rest of the programme.

What if someone cannot make it?

The session normally continues for the others and an individual absence does not change the group price. Online sessions can be recorded privately if everyone consents; face-to-face sessions are not recorded. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to request a group reschedule, subject to everyone’s availability.

Do we need to practise between sessions?

A little regular practice will help. I’ll share short activities and follow-ups, and you can encourage each other in our WhatsApp group. It’s for group learning and session-related questions, rather than unlimited individual tuition.

Can we book if there are two or four of us?

Ask me! The price shown is specifically for three people. I’ll confirm suitability, availability and a group quote before you book.

Who would you learn with?

Send me a message with how many of you there are, whether you’re starting from zero, and when you’d like to meet. We can take it from there.
